No need to plan perfect 3-hour workouts that nobody ever actually does. In this guide, we’re going to show you that with 10 minutes of strength training per day and a well-designed program, you can get real results in terms of fitness and energy.

Look, in a day, you have 1,440 minutes. If we assume you sleep 8 hours a night, that leaves you with 960 waking minutes in a day. If you compare 10 minutes of exercise to those 960 minutes, those 10 minutes represent 1% of your daily waking time.

If you take 30 seconds to think back on your day yesterday, could you have found that 1% of time to take care of yourself? We agree that sounds possible, right?

Is 10 minutes of exercise per day enough to get visible results?

Valérie reached out to us without really believing it, and yet the result is there. She simply started by doing 10 minutes of strength training per day.

If, like Valérie, your goal is to lose 10 kilos and stop suffering every time you look in the mirror: yes, starting with 10 minutes of exercise per day is effective, no matter your age. It’s never too late. When Valérie trusted us to guide her through her body transformation, she was 52.

At the same time, there’s one thing you’ll need to pay attention to, and that’s how you eat. You absolutely must not tell yourself, "It’s fine, I work out, I can eat whatever I want!" because that’s completely false. Ideally, you should plan a caloric deficit specifically adapted for women. But the point of this article isn’t to talk about nutrition, we’re going to focus on training, and specifically the kind that defines our approach, strength training for women.

You’ll see that throughout this article, we’ll drop in links you can check out whenever you want so you have as much information as possible. Let’s come back to your goals. We told you about Valérie, but we’ve also coached another champion with different goals. Her name is Isabelle, and she managed to sculpt her body at 40, to the point that she now competes in bikini fitness competitions.

We think you can see it, Valérie and Isabelle didn’t start with the same goal, and you know what? That’s completely okay. If you identify more with Isabelle than with Valérie, you can start with 10 minutes of strength training per day. However, after an adaptation period, we’ll need to increase the intensity of your strength training exercises.

Our vision of strength training for women is really about taking it step by step. We’re against those coaches who hammer your brain with phrases like "no pain, no gain." Yes, you should feel that your muscles worked, but not to the point where you’re wrecked the next day and can’t handle your day.

Our job as nutrition and fitness coaches is to guide you progressively through your body transformation, and also to adapt to your goals. We’d even say we should replace "no pain, no gain" with "less is more".

You can choose to do 10 minutes of exercise in your day, or 1 hour, but you need to do the right exercises for your goals. For example, if you want to build your glutes, training your arms or going running won’t help. So you’re going to need a minimalist workout program for your 10 minutes of strength training per day.

Can 10 minutes of exercise help you lose weight?

Once again, the answer is clearly yes, but you need to understand how to eat, and you’ll need to track your calories. But you’re probably telling yourself that 10 minutes of training per day is ridiculously little if you want to physically transform and feel proud of your body.

Think again, because every small step counts. Every little win over yourself will push you to go further and overcome what’s called learned helplessness. The secret is to see those 10 minutes as an anchor point in your day, a new reflex to build. That short window dedicated to moving and being active is the start of a positive momentum to become a Champion.

Yes, the starting point is modest, but that regular effort will gradually become a deeply rooted habit. With consistency, those short daily sessions will add up. Each workout will help slightly speed up your metabolism to support fat loss. Little by little, you’ll lose fat and gain muscle.

For women who are more sedentary, like Edith, 46, doing 10 minutes of exercise per day may be the best way to make physical activity part of their lifestyle and lose weight sustainably.

Combining these 10 minutes of exercise with optimized nutrition will amplify the positive effects on your body. Trust us, we’ll gradually increase the duration and intensity of your training, but it will always be with your body, not against it. We want to make you want it, not force you.

Is 10 minutes of strength training enough to build muscle?

The answer is yes, but it deserves a deeper explanation. First of all, a quick reminder. The type of training we recommend to all our Champions, without exception, is strength training.

There are a lot of false beliefs around fitness, especially the idea that running helps you build muscle. Not only is that false, it can also be risky. Running activates your metabolism and burns fat, which is great, but it doesn’t build muscle.

Running creates a lot of impact on your joints, which can be problematic, especially if you’re overweight or living with obesity. It can damage your joints, especially your knees, and turn your days into real nightmares if you deal with chronic pain.

For women who are overweight, like Audrey, 10 minutes of strength training per day is better than 10 minutes of running, because the risk of injury is lower.

With strength training, there’s much less impact. We’re going to help you choose the right exercises so you can gradually build muscle without risking injury. With 10 minutes of targeted training each day, you’ll send a clear message to your body: it needs that extra muscle to respond to this new regular stimulus.

Of course, to optimize muscle gain, you’ll need to make sure your nutrition is appropriate and high in protein. Women who do strength training need to increase their protein intake to build muscle. With minimalist training and exercises targeted to your goals, your 10 minutes of exercise per day will help you build muscle gradually and without pain.

What equipment do you need for 10 minutes of exercise at home?

You may be wondering what you’ll need to get started with your 10-minute exercise program at home each day. No need to turn your living room into a gym. To start, your own body weight will be your best ally. You may not know it yet, but there are objects in your home, in your everyday life, just waiting to be repurposed.

Let us explain: look at your handbag. We agree, there’s a lot in there, and it has some weight to it, right? There you go, you can already start by lifting your handbag. You might also have water bottles at home. Ideally, use small 50 cl water bottles as dumbbells.

If, like Justine, you don’t do any exercise at all, starting with 10-minute training sessions at home is much less intimidating, and potentially less discouraging, than going to the gym.

To progress gently during your 10 minutes of strength training per day, we recommend investing in a few simple, space-saving accessories. The two accessories we recommend to the Champions we coach are TRX straps and light dumbbell kits. TRX straps are really versatile and let you train all your muscle groups with adjustable resistance. They attach to a door or wall, so in terms of space, you don’t need much room for your 10-minute strength training session.

As for dumbbells, we recommend buying an adjustable dumbbell kit. That will let you start with light weights and gradually adjust based on your progress. Another advantage of TRX straps is that since they’re not bulky, you can take them with you. Okay, we admit we may be pushing it a little, but in theory, you could use your TRX straps and adjustable dumbbells in a hotel room or at a friend’s house, right?

Scientifically speaking, does a minimalist 10-minute workout actually work?

This surprising study from 2023, by Behm and colleagues, confirms our view. Their results show that a single weekly training session made up of multi-joint exercises, with loads between 30 and 80% of one-repetition maximum (1RM) and fewer than three sets per exercise, can induce gains in muscular strength, hypertrophy, and endurance.

Note, however, that this is the minimum required to start training. Beyond three months, research on the amount of training needed to keep progressing is limited. The training program will need to be adapted as you evolve.

The study highlights the benefits of choosing multi-joint exercises, because they target several muscle groups with a single exercise, allowing you to optimize the ratio of training time to muscle recruitment. For example, if you want to train your quads and glutes, it makes more sense to choose an exercise like the squat, which lets you train both muscle groups at the same time, rather than doing two isolation exercises, such as a leg extension for the quads and a glute kickback for your glutes. That would take twice as much training time for the same result.

If you want to develop specific muscle groups, for example your triceps, calves, or abs, although that’s not a good idea, as we explain in the article on visible abs for women, adding a bit of isolation work could be an option if you have the time.

What lesson should you take from this study?

These results may be surprising, because there’s an unspoken assumption that if you want to firm up your body and get stronger, you need to do "more." That idea is reinforced by the “no pain, no gain” mantra that’s all over fitness internet. But in reality, you don’t need to do that much to progress in strength and hypertrophy, muscle growth, as long as you bring a good level of effort to each workout.

In other words, is each set “hard enough” to force your body to adapt? To quote this 2017 study, although more sets, more than 10, lead to the highest percentage change in muscle size, even as few as five sets per muscle group per week can induce muscle growth.

A minimalist training approach can also be relevant for more advanced strength trainees. A study by Anroulakis-Korakakis examined the minimum effective training dose for increasing 1RM strength in advanced trainees, and found that performing a single set of 6 to 12 repetitions with about 70 to 85% of 1RM, 2 to 3 times per week with a higher effort intensity, in other words, training to failure, for 8 to 12 weeks, can induce significant progress.

Is 10 minutes of exercise per day at home, with a minimalist program, really possible?

You may be thinking that to enjoy the benefits of 10 minutes of exercise per day, you have to sign up for a gym. Good news, that’s false. You can absolutely start strength training in your living room. The advantage of training at home is that you can do it at your own pace, without worrying about other people’s eyes on you, which can sometimes be far from kind.

If, on the other hand, you feel comfortable with the idea of doing your exercises at the gym, we have no problem with that. Our goal, as you’ve understood, is for you to build confidence in yourself, like Laetitia, who managed to lose her visceral fat in 9 months.

With a minimalist program, you’ll have 10 minutes of targeted exercises each day based on your goals and your physical condition. Whether you want to strengthen your back, slim your arms, or tone your glutes, we’ll adapt to your needs. The equipment needed for these 10 minutes of daily physical activity at home is kept to the bare minimum. Your own body weight will be the main resistance. Once you’ve experienced your first wins over yourself, we can set up a program with equipment.

The key is to focus on consistency and movement quality during these 10 short minutes. That way, you’ll lay the foundation for a firmer, more toned physique, without having to face the eyes of strangers in a gym. In short, this minimalist program of 10 minutes of strength training per day at home is the ideal formula for getting started gently. You’ll build confidence before considering, if you want to, continuing your training in a gym.

Can you get results with less than 10 minutes of exercise per day?

Maybe you’re thinking 10 minutes of exercise still feels a little too ambitious for you. No problem.

Let us tell you about a recent study that looked at the effects of a minimalist home training program on fitness, body composition, and health. We’re not even talking about 10 minutes of exercise here, just 5 minutes of very basic exercises per day, squats, push-ups, trunk movements, and calf work, for 4 weeks.

The result: about 10% more strength, several extra reps on push-up and dynamic plank tests, and even a slight decrease in heart rate, which suggests a healthy heart that doesn’t need to beat like crazy to circulate blood through the body, along with better flexibility and a subjective feeling of being in better shape.

In terms of body composition or weight, however, no difference was found, but the study didn’t include any change in eating habits, so that’s not necessarily surprising. Imagine how much better the results would have been if the exercise had been paired with a personalized nutrition program.

But the main effect highlighted by the study, the one we want to draw your attention to, isn’t even physical, it’s behavioral, and it will have indirect effects on your ability to build muscle.

Almost all participants, 83 %, maintained some form of activity after the protocol ended. Translation: even a tiny dose of activity can be enough to restart momentum, rebuild confidence, and bring your body back into the loop. It’s not a prison, it’s an entry point.

These 5 minutes of minimalist training at home can get you moving again, revive your basic strength and endurance, and simply help you feel fit, while creating a stable and sustainable habit. What they won’t do: dramatically change your physique in 4 weeks, you know us, we don’t sell miracle programs, compensate for inconsistent eating, or replace planned progression over several months. But they will act like a starter motor.

Then, by moving up to 10 minutes, you’ll start getting visible results, without having to sacrifice a big chunk of your day. And that will give you the motivation to do longer workouts, and maybe even the confidence to go to the gym.

Your only goal at the beginning isn’t perfection, it’s consistency. You can think about your progress in levels:

  • Level 1 : 5 minutes per day, one set per exercise, the effort should feel hard but without hurting execution quality;
  • Level 2 : 10 minutes, your minimalist A/B program, 2 to 4 times per week;
  • Level 3 : 20 minutes, we add a set, make the variations harder, or add load, that’s the concept of progressive overload.

Same body, same logic, just one step further each time.

Valérie didn’t like exercise. She started by doing 10 minutes of exercise per day, and today she’s reached level 3 in her progression and trains 20 to 30 minutes per workout. Result: -10 kilos in 6 months.

What really makes a difference, in fact, isn’t the duration, but the quality of the stimulus and consistency. So it’s better to do 10 minutes of effective, personalized training than 60 minutes of ineffective exercise, like in a group class, CAF, Bodypump, Pilates.

What does a minimalist strength training program look like in practice?

Before showing you the program, here are a few essential points to keep in mind to optimize your workouts:

  • Choosing equipment at the gym: When you’re short on time, go for machines or dumbbells. They’re easier to load and unload, allowing you to maximize your working time.
  • Training at home: Keep your equipment in a visible, easy-to-access place. That will motivate you to train regularly and avoid excuses.
  • Training intensity: Aim to train close to muscle failure, as we show you in our video on training to failure and in this article on our strength training program for women. This approach will help you maximize your strength and muscle gains.
  • Warm-up routine: Keep your warm-ups specific to the exercise. Rather than doing a long, complex warm-up, do 2 to 3 warm-up sets for your main exercise. This method is more time-efficient and prepares you directly for training.
  • Stretching: There’s no need to include static stretching in your routine unless improving flexibility is a specific goal. Strength training offers similar benefits in terms of range of motion. We talk about it in more detail in this video.
  • Cool Down: You can skip the post-workout recovery routine. Research indicates that the benefits of cool downs are often overestimated. Focus on good hydration and post-workout nutrition for better recovery.
  • Combined exercises: Combine exercises for two non-competing body parts to reduce your recovery time without losing effectiveness. For example, pair an upper-body exercise with a lower-body exercise, or a push with a pull. While some muscle groups are working, the others are resting, which optimizes your training time.

That said, let’s now move on to practical examples to illustrate these concepts.

10-minute home workout program:

Here’s a program to do 2 to 4 times per week, alternating workouts A and B each session. This full-body style program lets you activate all your muscle groups in a single workout.

To optimize your recovery, you can use the circuit training method we present in this video. 'RM' means Repetition Maximum. If you reach muscle failure before the minimum range, the exercise is too difficult for you. In that case, reduce the load or resistance. If you go beyond the top rep range without reaching muscle failure, increase the difficulty level or choose another exercise.

Get closer to muscle failure by trying to do as many reps as possible while maintaining good execution. Proper technique is essential to avoid injury and maximize the benefits of your training. So take the time to control all your movements well.

Workout A:

  1. Goblet Squat​ (or ​Bulgarian Split Squat​ or ​Reverse Lunges​) 3 sets @ 8-30 RM
  2. ​Band Overhead Press​ (or ​Arnold Press​) 2 sets @ 8-30 RM
  3. ​TRX Low Row​ (or ​Band Motorcycle Row​ or ​pull-ups​ or ​band-assisted pull-ups​ or on the ​TRX​) 2 sets @ 8-30 RM

  1. ​Band Pull Through​ (or ​Romanian deadlifts with dumbbells​ or ​band​) 3 sets @ 8-30 RM
  2. ​Sissy Squat​ (​Quadruped Terminal Knee Extension​ or ​Terminal Knee Extension​) 2 sets @ 8-30 RM
  3. ​Push-ups​ (on your ​knees​ if it’s too difficult, or in a ​deficit​ if it’s too easy) 3 sets @ 8-30 RM

You’ll notice that training intensity in the gym is intentionally higher, because you have more equipment available to add difficulty, which lets you save time by doing fewer reps.

Workout A:

  1. Barbell Squats​ (or ​Goblet Squat​ or ​Bulgarian Split Squat​ or ​Deficit Reverse Lunges​) 3 sets @ 8-15 RM
  2. ​Overhead Press​ (or ​Arnold Press​) 2 sets @ 8-15 RM
  3. ​Lat Pulldown​ with a wide grip (or ​pull-ups​ or ​machine-assisted pull-ups​ or ​band​) 2 sets @ 8-15 RM

Workout B:

Optional: at the end of each workout, you can add one exercise for your arms, calves, glute medius, or abs depending on your goal and preferences.

Of course, these workouts are just examples and can, and should, be adapted based on your abilities, your training level, and above all your physique goal.

If I train more, will I get more results?

To be clear: yes. If you have more time to train, that’s great, train as much as you can. With Maëlle, we train every day, Monday through Sunday, between 20 and 40 minutes.

However, for those of us who live busy lives and tend to fall into the all-or-nothing trap, “if I can’t do a full workout, what’s the point of even trying?”

So we hope this guide shows you that doing something will always be better than doing nothing. That’s true for fitness, and especially when it comes to doing 10 minutes of strength training per day. Before contacting Jérémy, I was overweight. I was still carrying 10 extra kg after my pregnancies. I had been carrying those kilos for 13 years. I tried all kinds of different diets (chronobio, Dukan...) and none of them worked long-term. Honestly, I was really starting to think it was hopeless.

Despite having a varied athletic background, I was no longer making progress after a difficult ordeal and the effects of menopause. I started coaching in May 2025, I weighed 59kg, and thanks to your method, I lost 11kg of fat mass in 6 months. 10 months ago, I joined Jérémy's program feeling deeply exhausted, both physically and mentally, with the sense that I'd tried everything without ever being able to stick with it over time.

Living with moderate obesity, I tried different methods, diets, fasting, and even electrostimulation, but I always ended up giving up, with more frustration, more guilt, and extra weight gained.

The real wake-up call came when I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea: my weight gain was no longer just about my appearance or my self-esteem, but also about my health.

Hello, I'm 52 years old, and I had been struggling for more than 5 years trying to lose weight. I was exhausting myself doing cardio, Pilates, basically trying a bit of everything, and when it came to food, I thought I was eating well.

A difference of about 10 kg (weight loss) and a more toned physique.

Not everything was perfect. Sometimes, I didn’t follow the program, and Jérémy helped me let go of the guilt. Those moments are part of the process, what matters is doing your best and sticking with it. Sometimes, I felt like it was pointless, then I looked at the results. I was proud of myself. Other times, I was extremely consistent and it was absolutely on fire.

Before Jérémy, my body was a real obstacle and I didn’t understand why my weight was going up even though “I wasn’t eating that badly.”

After Jérémy, I understood: eating healthy is not the same as fat loss. There are so many factors to take into account, and I learned them by his side.

I chose to start coaching after gradual weight gain that was worrying me. Despite that, the professionals I saw did not take me seriously, since my BMI was considered "normal." I was often told that "after 40, that's completely common." And yet, deep down, I knew something was wrong. I'm one of those people who prefer to listen to their own feelings rather than blindly trust conventional narratives.

I dreamed of it, and Jérémy made it happen!

How can I describe the incredible life-changing experience of meeting Jérémy, a coach who is educational, kind, and always listening?
The ideal coach, really!

I’ve never exactly been naturally slim, but I have to admit I really went off track in recent years, gaining 20 kg in 5 years without managing to turn things around.
Despite my various attempts, cardio, diet support, EMS electrostimulation classes, and even "good resolutions", none of them worked.
So in the end, I had more or less resigned myself and accepted it: it was too late to change, and I would just live with the consequences of letting myself go for the rest of my life, dissatisfied...

Then, this summer, came the wake-up moment: I couldn’t keep up with my sons and my husband or fully enjoy family activities.
Determined to change the course of things and stop suffering through it without reacting, I clearly identified what I needed: support from someone able to help me both nutritionally and physically.

I reached out to Jérémy after gaining weight following a thyroidectomy, combined with the onset of menopause. I was stuck in limiting beliefs, convinced, after reading many testimonials from women in my situation, that it was almost impossible to lose weight after that kind of surgery and with menopause.

I felt uncomfortable in my body and unable to seriously take control again. Thanks to Jérémy, I learned how to use the app intelligently and manage my calories and macros day to day.
